POV: Cas

November 8, 2003

I stayed with Dean for a week and I honestly just didn’t want to leave but we weren’t living together. We’d gone to my parents for the weekend before Halloween and it was a pleasant trip. Dean got along with them so well and my Mom loved him. He and Gabriel also got along so well it was weird. But, then again we had been together over five months and that was…unheard of in my world of dating.

Three months was usually the max but I was slowly learning that Dean was not like them. None of them would have come with me to the emergency room, let alone know what I needed without my asking. Even after that he’d made sure I was comfortable, well fed, clean, and was always available for cuddles. Even if I didn’t speak about how scared I had been.

“You tense up when you think about the assault, is being here reminding you of that?” he asked sleepily.

I scrunched up my face. “I do?”

He giggled. “Yes, you do. We can go back to my place if you’d rather.”

“It’s not that.”

“It’s been almost a month; you don’t talk about it much.”

I moved to turn; I had woken up before him but hadn’t moved. I rather liked feeling his body against mine, the safe and warm feeling. But I also liked facing him and this was better.

“I was actually thinking more about what you did for me.”

One eyes peered at me, half opened. “You tense up when thinking about that? Not gonna fly sunshine.”

“Don’t make me accidentally smack you with a cast.”

“I don’t mind if you don’t want to talk, but I want to know what makes you tense up.”

I snuggled a little closer. “I think it’s the thoughts of what would have happened had Sasha not shown up.”

I felt his lips on my cheek. “We know what he would have done, Castiel. It’s not a pleasant thought and I understand that. But, I wouldn’t have seen you any differently and he would have been seriously hurt because I doubt I would have had any self control. The cops just reissued a restraining order, they’re watching him and if he comes around you or I he goes to jail for a long time.”

I tried to change the subject. “So, any plans today?”

“Lay here and cuddle with you all day? I mean I don’t see a reason to get up.”

“Dean.”

“Hey, it’s colder outside and cuddling sounds like a perfectly acceptable plan.”

“Did our parents ever settle on who’s hosting Thanksgiving?”

“Yeah, my parents are. Sam is coming in and they all agreed it would be easier on him. Gabriel’s also coming down.”

“And Christmas?” I asked.

He huffed some. “Dude, one holiday at a time. But, most likely your parents or we’ll split. You’re thinking ahead; I like that.”

I smiled. I was thinking ahead and that scared me some, but it was nice to consider the future with Dean. It was easy now because it was beyond three or four months and he didn’t seem like he wanted to flee. I mean, he stayed with an injury!
I felt his hand move over my side and slip just underneath the waistband of my sleep pants. “Sure you don’t want to just…stay and cuddle?”

“Well, that’s…”

He cut me off with a kiss as he pulled me a little closer. I couldn’t really pull him to me, because the arm on his side was in a cast. He must have sensed my frustration with that because I found myself pushed onto my back with him lying on top of me.

“Are you, like, reading my mind here?”

He smiled and kissed me several times with his hips grinding into me. “Maybe.”

I had to keep one arm down, because of the cast but the other one moved to his hair first, tugging gently and pulling him down before I moved it to his back, tracing the muscles along his side.

“Fuck Dean…”

I could feel both of our erections through our clothes, but that was not what I wanted. His lips moved down my neck and I felt the smile against me.

“Want out of these?”

“Fuck yes, both of us.”

He had to get up for that but he straddled me when he laid back down, which was fucking perfect. I liked feeling him close, liked the feel of his erection against me, and loved the friction we could get from just rubbing together. He was moving slowly, drawing it out but he was also relishing the kisses and then ones to my neck and mine to his. This wasn’t the first time, but it had been before the accident. Damn I missed this.
The longer he ground down and moved the faster it got and I could feel myself getting close.

“Fuck, Cas.”

Our grunts, groans and moans filled the room and even after we both came, it was just slow movements until he sat up and I almost fainted. I moved my hand to his thigh. I wished both could be there, damn cast.

“You seem to like what you see,” he smirked.

“Mmm, I very much do.”

“We should both get cleaned up though.”

I focused on those green eyes. “I don’t know you look pretty hot right now.”

“Can’t say you don’t but really…this is getting sticky.”

“Fine. You want to tape me up?”

His brow rose. “You want to rephrase that, Sunshine? That just sent all the wrong things coursing through my brain. Not with tape though.”

“So you heard. Do you want to tie me up?”

He groaned. “Not the image I need.”

I massaged his thigh a few moments, considered that question and his reaction, because it seemed like maybe he wanted to. I’d never really thought about something like that because I didn’t trust the others and while Robert asked and I had done some, it didn’t feel good. But, this was Dean and I trusted him.

“Is that something you would want to do?”

His jaw slacked and he stared for several moments. “Would you be alright with that?”

I went to sit up and he had to help because with one arm I couldn’t. Which put him sitting in my lap and fuck this was good too.

“I trust you Dean. I know that you wouldn’t do anything that I wasn’t comfortable with even if I was tied up. I’ve never really been tied up though like your thinking, so I can’t promise it’ll be something I’d like.”

He kissed me. “Trust me, you would.”

“I have no doubt I would. How about a shower and then breakfast?”

He put his arms around me and good lord those lips against mine were always so good.

“I’ll get the stuff to wrap that up.”

He got up and Jesus that was even better, watching him walk around naked was definitely something I liked. He got the stuff and wrapped the arm before we headed to the showers. My shower was big enough for both of us and that was perfect. Following a shower I just slipped boxers on and went to the kitchen. He groaned behind me, but he showed up in boxers a few moments later.

He did most of the cooking because sadly my left hand was not good at much when it came to cooking, slicing or cutting. We sat at the table and considered what we may do for the day. Eventually, his plan won because there were no movies we cared to see, no place that we really wanted to go. So, sitting and cuddling was perfect.

We were comfortable and just watching some random cooking show when his phone rang, he barely moved and then ignored it. But a few moments after it stopped, it began again.

“Do you need to get that?” I asked.

“It’s Benny.”

I nudged him gently.“Answer it.”

I moved up so he could and he called him back.

“Hey man what’s up?”

I couldn’t hear Benny very well but I heard something about fire and I could feel Dean’s entire body tense.

“WHAT?!?”

I moved quickly to get up, concerned as his entire demeanor changed.

“Dean?”

He listened briefly then said he was on his way, his face was pale though and he just didn’t look right.

“Dean?”

“The garage is on fire. I’ve got to go.”

I jumped slightly. “On fire?”

“That’s what Benny said.”

“Come on, we’ll both go.”

All we had to do was slip shoes on and grab wallets and a set of keys. I opted to drive because he was upset. He fidgeted in the seat beside me until we got closer and you could see the smoke from miles away. That seemed to make him much more jittery and unsettled, we couldn’t get close so I parked nearby and we ran the rest, but the police stopped us.

“That’s my building! I own the place,” Dean said.

“I’m sorry; your building has flammable items. Once it’s secured we will allow you to come closer.”

“But…”

I wrapped my arms around him as best I could. “Dean.”

“That’s my home Cas!”

I tightened my grip some. “I know, Dean. But let them do their job.”

We were close and could see flames in the interior halls. I couldn’t see Benny anywhere though, but they did have the area sealed off. I held him there until he couldn’t stand anymore and then I followed him to the ground. We could both hear the sirens and the sounds of people shouting. I think we were both waiting for the explosion to happen, because we both knew he had oil and gas in the garage part. Any of that would be explosive.

“Dean?” I asked.

He’d been gazing in the direction of the garage for over half an hour, just staring. He didn’t respond to me and I couldn’t imagine what was going through his mind. It was his home and his business, his entire livelihood. I waited another fifteen before I gently wiped away the stray tears and then turned his head to me.

“It’s going to be okay, Dean.”

“It’s my whole life Cas…Everything that Sammy ever gave me is in there and I can’t replace those.”

I laid my forehead to his. “If I have to, I’ll have him remake everything. But the building is still up and the smoke isn’t as bad.”

Benny came over after he was allowed.

“Dean? Man, you okay?”

“I’m not sure. What happened, Benny?”

He lowered himself some by squatting down. “I came in because a part was supposed to be delivered and I didn’t want it outside. I was inside just tinkering with my truck when I saw something weird in the front area of the building. I knew you and Cas weren’t here this weekend so I walked over and saw the flames in that front room. I called 911 and then called you. I saw someone leave when I came out of the door, they were going around the corner and I reported it to the police officers.”

“Someone left?” Dean asked.

“Yeah, I’m sure the camera in the back and outside got glimpses or images. They’re pulling them as soon as they can.”

“Do you think this was an accident?”

He shook his head. “No, I don’t think it was. It wasn’t that Robert fella’ either, this guy was smaller.”

Dean nodded and despite the fact that Benny just said it wasn’t Robert, I knew he had something to do with this. I’d bet whoever came here was on his orders or his request. I felt Dean lean closer to me and I tightened my grip a bit. Benny eventually sat with us and we waited, there wasn’t anything else we could do until the police came over. We all got up and waited on the report.

“The fire is out. The garage itself has no damage; it seemed localized in the front area of the building. We detected accelerates. So we’re doing a full investigation.”

“Is the upstairs gone?” he asked.

“Not totally, the kitchen area is destroyed. The floor there was pretty much gone; I mean your sink is downstairs now. It looks like the sprinklers kept the rest of the upstairs from really going up. Unfortunately, we can’t let you in right now. We need to ensure the floor will be stable and right now you have no stairs to get up there.”

“How long will that take?”

“A couple of days at least. We will check the adjoining building but we don’t suspect any damage there.”

He sighed. “Okay. Is there anything you need me to do?”

“We’ll need some information.”

I gave him a quick squeeze. “Go on with him Dean; I’ll wait here with Benny.”

I gave his rear end a light pat and he gave me half a smile but went with the officer. Benny and I remained behind.

“Do you think it was someone connected with Robert?” he asked.

“Yeah, I’ll tell the officer that as well. He can’t come near the garage or my house without the risk of jail.”

He nudged my arm. “You know he thinks that Dean will blame you and he’ll leave you, but Dean isn’t gonna do that. He won’t blame you. In fact, he’ll turn to you. So, whatever this guy thinks he’s doing, he’s going to fail.”

“Thank you Benny. For being here today, for everything you do for Dean.”

He patted my back gently. “No problem, one of the best friends I have.”

When the officer brought Dean back I told him my theory and it turns out, Dean had already expressed that concern.

“We can leave; he said it would be a few days before I could even do anything. I’m just going to assume you won’t mind company?”

“I don’t know.” I glanced around and rubbed my neck.

“Come on! I cook, I clean, and I even cuddle.”

“Oh man, you had me at cuddle. You know I don’t mind, Sweetie Pie.”

Benny giggled and the blush crept into Dean’s face. Big bad Dean mentioned cuddles and got called sweetie pie. But I pulled him in for a hug and gave him a quick kiss to his cheek.

“Want to join us for dinner Benny?”

“No sir, I’m going to get myself home, get this smoke smell off and get some quality time with the TV. The part arrived and I’ve got it with me.”

“Sure?” Dean asked.

“Sure. Will you call the customers or me?”

“I will tomorrow. I need to call my parents and Sam.”

“Ok. You fellas have a good night.”

He headed to his car and we returned to mine. On the way home he called his parents and Sam, informing them what he was told and what happened. When we got back to the house I began dinner with him. He was a little less playful and I knew why. I wondered what the hell I could do to cheer him up some. Once we had dinner complete and eaten and any leftovers put away I got his hand.

“Tell me what you need Dean. Tell me what you want.”

He looked confused at first and I was sure I had the same look when he told me the same things. When he wondered what I needed that day in the hospital.

“I’m really not sure, Castiel.”

So, I took a page from his book. I got his hand and led him to the sofa and sat him down. He looked confused for several moments before I carefully got into his lap. I took a moment to adjust before I laid my arms around his neck and laid my forehead against his.

“Am I on the right track?”

He barely nodded. “Yes, you are.”

“Everything will be okay Dean. It doesn’t sound like everything was lost.”

“I know Sunshine, it just…sucks. I have to deal with insurance and crap and I just didn’t want to. I’m really relieved that the entire place didn’t go.”

“Sounds like you get a kitchen upgrade though.”

He smiled briefly. “That’s true. So, how does your arm feel?”

“No, you aren’t deflecting Dean. My arm is fine.”

“Not much else to say, Sunshine. I can’t really assess how much I lost until I can see it. It sounds like most of the place is fine and I’ll probably need new stuff that has water damage and I know that the photos are replaceable. I have extra copies or Sam does or our parents, or you. I think you have every photo we’ve taken together.”

I nodded once. “I do.”

“I won’t know about the Sam items until I can get in there.”

“And how do you feel about it being related to Robert?”

While Benny’s words helped, they would never replace Dean’s words.

His arms moved around me and pulled me closer. Thank God I had sweatpants on this time.

“I’m sure he’s responsible somehow, but I don’t blame you at all. He did this to try and drive us apart and look what they did, you basically moved me in. I’ll thank you for that too; any way you want to be thanked.”

I kissed him several times. “You thanked me by just being here, Dean. I’m sorry he tried to burn it down or whatever he was trying to do. I wish he’d left you alone.”

His arms tightened. “I know his type, Sam had a few bullies and I did too. He thinks this scares me and makes me weak, it doesn’t. We’ll pull through this and be better. Hopefully the police can do something about it and arrest him. If not, we’ll see what we can do legally and may even take a permanent restraining order.”

I adjusted my hips some to be a little more comfortable and he giggled.

“Keep that up and you’ll be naked again soon.”

I snorted. “You talk like I mind that.”

“Cas, would you really let me tie you up?”

“Yes. I trust you Dean; I know you wouldn’t take advantage of me.”

“I’m curious about what you’ve done before; it’s not something we totally discussed.”

I felt the blush creep into my face. “Honestly, there hasn’t been much that I have done, like this morning was newer and so damn good. I guess the normal hand or blow jobs, one guy tried docking but that was weird and before you ask, he wasn’t circumcised.”

“Can’t say I ever wanted to do that. Did you just not trust them?”

I settled in his lap a little more, considered that question.

“Mostly that was it, I didn’t trust them. Most likely because they always tried to go beyond where I felt comfortable.”

He smiled. “I would never do anything that you weren’t comfortable with Castiel. Sex isn’t supposed to be bad and if you aren’t having a good time I’m not doing it right. But I know this isn’t comfortable for you, I can feel your arm moving a lot more than normal.”

I wrinkled my nose at him. “I’m comfortable.”

He tilted his head. “I was thinking mostly naked cuddle time.”

“In that case, my arm hurts like hell.”

He laughed and I was glad to hear that laugh, but I got up anyway and well, I would never pass up naked cuddles. It was nice to know he wasn’t going anywhere despite the fire, but it also made me wonder if maybe this was a good time to see if we truly got along for extended periods of time. I was sure it would be a month or more before he would have the ability to go home and until then it would tell us both if this was something that was real.

Not that I didn’t think it wasn’t. I was sure that I was in love with him and it scared me. This would test me as well, if I couldn’t do it. I would know
before the end of the month.

After some hardcore cuddles we both finally drifted off.
